Troubleshooting

Use the steps below to help quickly diagnose and resolve G.O.A.T.-related issues. Safety Note: If you are not familiar with electrical wiring or the G.O.A.T.’s internal components, please consult a qualified technician or DaVinci Support.

1. Confirm Details

  • Correct use of the G.O.A.T./QR code – Ensure the tenant, vendor, or employee is scanning or using the device properly, including:

    • Associated phone number – Confirm the phone number matches the tenant’s account in your facility management software. If using OTP verification, confirm the number listed can receive SMS.
    • Tenant gate access code – Confirm they are using the code associated with their tenant account and if they are using * or # when entering the code.

    • Vendors or employees gate access code - Confirm they are set up in Tenant Connect and are using the correct gate access code.

    • Delinquent status – Review the unit(s) status- a delinquent status for any unit(s) associated with the tenant will restrict entry.

    • Gate access hours – Confirm any gate access hours or restrictions set up for the facility within Tenant Connect. Note: Gate access hours saved in the facility management software will not apply for G.O.A.T. access; access hours must be stored for the facility within Tenant Connect.

2. Physical Inspection of the G.O.A.T.

  • Visible damage – Check for cracks, dents, or signs of tampering.

  • Loose or disconnected cables – Ensure all external cables are properly connected.

  • Water ingress – Look for moisture inside or around the device housing.

  • Power supply – Confirm the G.O.A.T. is plugged into a power source. Determine whether it’s drawing power from the gate motor or an outlet.

3. Power Checks

  • Restart or cycle power – Turn the gate power off and back on, or reset via the facility’s breaker.

  • Test with gate motor housing open – Confirm if the device is responsive with the motor cover removed.

  • Verify wiring – Confirm power wires are properly installed and firmly secured to the board.

4. Connectivity Checks

  • Cellular service – Confirm the facility has adequate cellular coverage.

  • Internal antenna connection – Confirm the antenna is tightly screwed together (parts in green should be tightly screwed together).

  • Internal board connections – Gently open the cover and ensure board is flush (boards should be flush together).

    • Non-flush - Error

    • Flush - Non Error

5. Indicator Light Review

Observe the GOAT’s LED indicator lights inside of the G.O.A.T. cover:

  • Which lights are on or blinking?

  • Blink pattern – Note the color and sequence; this can help technical support identify the issue.

If the GOAT is unresponsive after completing these checks, document your findings (photos of connections, lights, and housing are helpful) and contact our support team at support@davincilock.com. Leave the GOAT safely secured until further instructions.
