How do I maintain my locks?

DaVinci Lock® recommends regular preventative maintenance of locks to extend the life, performance, and durability of the lock against dust, air pollutants, and inclement weather. To extend the life of your DaVinci Lock®, perform regular inspections of the locks including cleaning and lubrication. Standard wear and tear is to be expected with use and best practices for maintenance should be based on your experience, expertise, and location.

Customers of DaVinci Lock® have suggested ongoing maintenance of locks may include, but not limited to:

  • Pressurized air for particulates
  • Lubrication of shackle, dial assembly, and tab slider

To prepare locks for or assist with frozen locks in inclement conditions, DaVinci Lock® customers have suggested maintenance of locks may include, but not limited to:

  • Thawing
    - Hot water 
    - Match, lighter, torch
    - Hair dryer
    - Other warming mechanism
  • Lubricant
    - Graphite spray/lubricant
    - Dry lubricant
  • Encasement
    - Sock
    - Pouch
  • Alcohol
    - Rubbing alcohol
    - Hand sanitizer
  • De-icer
