G.O.A.T. installation should only be performed by licensed professionals. Improper installation may cause damage or malfunction. Please consult a certified technician before proceeding.
Tools Required:
- Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead)
- Wire strippers/cutters/crimpers
- Electric drill & ½ in. drill bit
- 18-gauge electrical wire (Multi-colors recommended)
- Double-sided adhesive (Recommended)
- Mounting screws (Optional)
Safety Precautions:
- Ensure the power is turned off before proceeding with installation.
- Do not connect to 120V AC to avoid device damage.
- Verify all connections before powering on.
Prepare the Gate Operator
- Remove the cover of the gate operator.
- Identify the optimal source of 24V DC power.
- Ensure you do not connect to 120V AC, as this will damage the device.
- Use at least 18-gauge wire for connections.
Locate Open Command
- Identify the board terminal that triggers the gate to open (OPEN COMMAND / EXIT COMMAND).
- It is recommended to use a ‘jumper’ to test the functionality of this connection.
- Ensure the gate responds correctly before proceeding.
Power Down for Safety
- Open the gate and leave it open during the installation process.
- It is recommended to allow tenants to access the facility
- Turn off the power to the operator.
- Disconnect any battery backup to prevent accidental power-on.
Determine Placement
- Identify an ideal mounting location under the operator cover.
- Ensure it will not obstruct other components.
- We will secure the G.O.A.T. enclosure using screws or double-sided adhesive (do not attach to the operator yet).
Prepare Enclosure for Waterproofing Wiring
- Drill a ½-inch hole in the G.O.A.T enclosure for waterproofing.
- Position the hole close to the operator board for minimal wiring length.
- Leave space for the water seal cap to be secured with the plastic nut from the inside of the G.O.A.T. enclosure.
Prepare & Route Wiring
- Cut and prepare four wires for installation.
- It is recommended to use separate colors*
- Distinguish between POWER and COMMUNICATION
- Insert the water seal piece through the drilled hole and secure it internally.
- Fish all four wires through the enclosure hole.
Connect Wiring to Board
- Identify the NO (Normally Open) and COM terminals (3 & 4 - from left to right).
- Ensure G.O.A.T. is set to NO (Normally Open).
- Locate the DC POWER terminals (6 & 7 - from left to right) and secure connections.
- Tighten all terminal screws to ensure a solid connection.
Test the Functionality
- Temporarily connect the wires to the board.
- Power on the operator and verify the G.O.A.T. has white blinking lights.
- Check that no errors appear on the operator board.
- Close the gate to confirm the G.O.A.T. functionality.
Verify Keypad Functionality (If Applicable)
- If using a keypad in tandem, test its functionality now.
- Send a test signal to open the gate.
- Ensure the keypad does not interfere with the G.O.A.T. operation.
Secure the Enclosure
- Disconnect temporary wiring used for testing.
- Ensure all wires are neatly routed through the waterproofing seal.
- Seal the G.O.A.T. enclosure using the four provided screws.
Final Wiring & Power Up
- Route wiring neatly to the board.
- Trim any excess wiring for a clean installation.
- Make final connections to the board.
- Power on the gate operator and check for errors.
Test Full Operation
- Ensure no errors are displayed on the board.
- Verify that the G.O.A.T. device properly controls the gate.
- Conduct multiple test cycles to confirm reliability.
Final Checks & Troubleshooting
- Verify all components are securely installed.
- Replace the operator cover once all tests pass.
- Issue: Device does not power on.
- Solution: Check wiring and verify 24V DC power source.
- Issue: Gate does not open when commanded.
- Solution: Verify NO and COM wiring on the G.O.A.T., test operator board with jumper.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed the G.O.A.T. device.
