How QR Codes Work in Tenant Connect® and DaVinci Lock®
What is a QR Code?
A QR code is a scannable code that opens a specific digital experience. Example QR code:
QR Codes & DaVinci
QR codes help customers, tenants, vendors, employees, and operators navigate to the correct Tenant Connect® or DaVinci Lock® experience without typing in a web address.
There are two types of QR codes operators may work with:
- QR codes engraved on DaVinci locks
- QR codes created in Tenant Connect
QR Codes on DaVinci Locks
QR codes engraved on locks are lock-specific and cannot be configured to point to a different URL or custom route.
-
When a tenant scans the QR code on a lock using their mobile device’s camera, the code will route them to a tenant-facing landing page for code retrieval.
-
When an operator scans the QR code via the DaVinci Lock mobile app, the app will display lock information and easily allow an operator to make changes to a locks status, unit, or unlock code.
QR Codes in Tenant Connect
QR codes created in Tenant Connect are configured by operators. Depending on the routing option setup, scanning the QR code enables navigation to:
- The facility’s tenant-facing Tenant Connect URL
- A gate access flow
- Another configured destination
For example, a QR code on a gate sign may be configured to navigate tenants directly to the gate code entry screen, while a QR code on a rental sign may navigate new customers to the facility’s website to begin the rental flow.
